この詩とイラストについて
年齢や時間の感じ方なんて、本当は人それぞれ。
誰かが決めた尺度に合わせるより、自分なりの「勝手な尺」で考えてみてもいい。
そんなことを考えながら描いた詩とイラストです。
勝手な尺
人生二百年だとしたら今は青年で
人生三百年だとしたら今は少年で
人生の尺なんて誰にもわからない
勝手に決めるバカがいるなら
勝手に決めないバカがいてもいい
勝手な尺で進めばそれでいい
今日が生まれた日でワクワクして
明日あたりが青春でドキドキする
忘れたい記憶と忘れたくない記憶
全部覚えている少年は強そうだな
噛み砕けないことがあるなら
解釈する尺を長くすればいい
勝手な尺で進めばそれでいい
My Own Measure
If life lasted two hundred years,
I'd still be a young man.
If life lasted three hundred years,
I'd still be a boy.
No one really knows
how long a life is supposed to be.
If there are fools
who decide the measure for themselves,
there can be fools
who choose not to decide it at all.
Just keep moving
by your own measure.
Imagine today is the day you were born,
full of wonder.
Maybe tomorrow
will be your youth,
full of excitement.
Memories you wish you could forget.
Memories you never want to lose.
A boy who remembers them all
sounds pretty strong to me.
If there's something
you just can't swallow,
give yourself
a longer measure to understand it.
Just keep moving
by your own measure.
